Airtel Kenya launches 'Customer Care on Wheels' bus

By Peter Ochieng

Airtel Kenya has launched one of its kind customer care on wheels bus, in a bid to reach out to customers in remote areas.

The bus, launched in Kondele, Kisumu on Monday afternoon will reach out to customers in Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho and Bomet counties.

Speaking during the event, Goldermier Opiyo, Customer Experience Director Airtel Kenya, said the bus will provide easy access to customers in remote areas, far away from their customer care shops.

"This unique mobile customer care unit will provide easy access to our customers who have not been able to access a customer care center, ensuring that their concerns are promptly and effectively addressed," she noted.

She said they are committed to improving their customer experience, through increasing more network sites across the country.

Similarly, Opiyo said they will be launching several similar buses in other parts of the country in the coming months.

All Airtel services will be offered, besides customers getting an opportunity to raise their concerns, and solutions being offered on the bus.

On her part, Scholasticah Mbindyo, Airtel Kenya Zonal Business Manager said the idea of the bus was born out of the fact that they do not have many customer care shops around.

She said through the 'shop on wheels,' they will be going out to meet their clients, as opposed to waiting for them.

"We will come wherever you are. That is the essence of customer care on wheels," she emphasised.

Airtel Kenya customers in the aforementioned counties were urged to check out the mobile operator's social media pages, for information on the bus' route.
