Appoint new competent Cabinet Secretaries, urges DP Gachagua

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua argued that there is need for President William Ruto to appoint new Cabinet Secretaries that are competent.

This is after President William Ruto shockingly fired all cabinet secretaries in his government except Prime to Cabinet Secretaries, Musalia Mudavadi. 

Gachagua, who paid a visit at Kipsoen Technical and Vocational College in Elgeyo Marakwet, on Saturday, July 13,2024, seemed to back up the tough decision that President Ruto made.

He has stated that such decision is the showcase of a bold and firm move of the head of state.

Deputy President called on president to consider appointing cabinet secretaries who are impartial in delivering services, responsible, accountable, integrity and Obedient. 

" We fully support you for the bold decision to dismiss your cabinet secretaries so that you can appoint new ones to help you in yoyr role," said Gachagua. 

According to Gachagua, incompetent cabinet sectaries in Kenya Kwanza government are one of the prime grievances Generation Z was raising calling for change.

He admitted that the appointment of competent leaders will ease delivery of services to the Kenyan people effectively.

"Appoint CS, who are not pride, who don't engange in politics and those who are not corrupt," added deputy president.

Deputy president has defended President Ruto’s decision stating that the Constitution has given president powers of appointing and dimissing of cabinet secretaries to ensure the nation's economy development and incredible performance. 

Principal Secretaries of all ministries to oversee the performance of the ministries.
