DCI apprehend notorious fraudsters

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have today apprehended two suspected criminals in connection to obtaining money from members of the public through fraudulent means.
David Thuo Njehia and Kyali Kilonzo were arrested on charges of taking money from members of the public on pretext that they would assist then to secure employment opportunities.
The two were arrested along Ngong Road, after defrauding unsuspecting members of the public more than Sh880,000.
Posing as employees of the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company, the duo have been taking advantage of desperate Kenyans seeking employment by promising to offer them jobs in government agencies and state corporations.
The DCI reports that the two were arrested on the verge of receiving an additional sh 100,000 from a job seeker who was promised a plum position at the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company with Pension benefits.
Following interrogation, the DCI revealed that the two were notorious fraudsters based in Dandora who have been on the DCI radar for a while and had once jumped bail for a similar offence.
The incident happens days after the DCI yet again apprehended another sim swapping fraudster who had went to seek sim replacement Services at a Safaricom shop.
DCI has heightened its measures to eradicate fraudulent activities in the country which have recently been on the surge.
