Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League sides Gor Mahia and Murang’a Seal are warming up for Saturday’s premier league match with an online mockery, aimed at charging up fans.
The match will be played at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani (MISC) from 3pm on Saturday. Murang’a Seal, FKFPL newbies were the first ones to mock the ‘Mighty K’Ogallo,’ claiming that Gor Mahia has never beaten them.
“Stubborn Fact: Gor Mahia has never beaten Murang'a Seal. Let us meet on Saturday at Kasarani,” Murang’a Seal’s administrator posted on X, formely Twitter.
“Mlitaka tukuje lower league (NSL) tuwashinde huko? (Did you want us to come to the lower league (NSL) so that we defeat you there? We do top league only and we are the defending champs with most league titles - 20 to be precise, how many league titles do you have?” K’Ogallo’s admin hit back.
“Bado unapumua nikanyage shingo? (Are you still breathing so that I step on your neck?),” Gor Mahia admin added.
The 2023/2024 season is the first for Murang’a Seal in the top tier, after being promoted from the second tier – NSL last season. The side finished second behind champions Shabana FC.
“Mko na kiwanja? Ama mtachezea kwa titles (Do you have a stadium? Or you will play on titles?” Murang’a admin retorted.
“Kwani huwa tunacheza juu ya maji? Sema tu una titles ngapi na umecheza mechi ngapi beyond Kenyan borders tumalize hii maneno. Shinda hata village title ndio we can skiza you kama winners (Do we play on water? Just say how many titles you have and how many matches you played beyond Kenyan borders so that we finish this issue. Win even a village title so that we start listening to you as winners),” Gor Mahia responded.
“A good dancer knows when to leave the stage,” Murang’a Seal replied, seemingly giving up the banter. Both teams are sponsored by betting company, Sportpesa.
They are second on the log with 20 points each, a point behind leaders Posta Rangers, after 10 rounds of matches. Before the game, Gor Mahia will unveil a new bus.
The 42-seater capacity bus was purchased by Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo’s foundation. It reportedly costed Sh23 million.
