Jeremiah Kioni: Ruto fooled Kenyans during campaign
By Robert Mutasi
Jubilee Secretary GeneralJeremiah Kioni has criticized the Kenya Kwanza government for the high cost of living and failing to meet the needs of Kenyans as promised during the campaign.
In an interview with Radio Jambo on July 25, Kioni insisted that President William Ruto deceived Kenyans during the campaign, thus securing his victory.
He said it's time for him to step down from power.
"William Ruto deceived Kenyans, he said during the campaign that it was the partnership of former President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga that caused everything to rise, he said setting down the Bible everything will fall, especially the price of flour, is that Bible still up?" Kioni asked.
The Former Ndaragwa Member of Parliament also compared the economy during Moi's time when Kibaki took over and now when Ruto has taken over the nation's leadership, saying that Kibaki had strategies but Ruto is just deceitful and has no plans.
"When Kibaki took over, the economy was greatly ruined. Kibaki started from zero and when he took over leadership the first thing he said was for children to go to school, he didn't say he was waiting for any money bill, unlike the current President who is taxing Kenyans on the pretext of wanting to improve the economy," he continued.
This comes at a time when the Azimio la Umoja coalition has postponed their planned protests to be held this Wednesday to mourn those who died in three consecutive days of protests last week.
According to Kioni, they still plan to lead the nation where he said their followers should not worry as they are still in a good position to change what they are facing.
The Jubilee member said they have planned according to the nation's constitution that in 2027 they hope to try again if they will defy Article 1 of the constitution which suggests that the nation's leadership is among the citizens.
