Taita Taveta County has a rare opportunity to showcase its touristic potential to the world following the announcement that the first edition of ONELIFE Safari Rally Kenya will make its way through the famed Tsavo National Parks.

Making the announcement during a mock flag-off event, Onelife Rally Africa limited director and Chairperson of Leopard Point Luxury Beach Resort Antonio Colleluori said the rally convoy would traverse four counties starting from Nairobi on its way to the finishing point at Malindi.

Colleluori said that the event would not be like any other as it looks to draw attention to the massive potential in counties and Kenya at large in tourism, agriculture, mining, marine, and more by tapping into the adrenaline-packed car races.

“ONELIFE Safari Rally isn’t the conventional event as it looks to highlight the massive tourism, agriculture, mining, marine, and so much more potential in our counties and the country at large,” he said.

The main highlight, racing cars, will be flagged off from Nairobi on October 28 and make way through Maasai Mara, Amboseli, and Tsavo National Parks and cruise to the finishing line at Malindi on November 4, 2023.

Colleluori added that the event has attracted more than 200 supercar enthusiasts and they expected more corporate players to join and promote the rich cultural diversity and potential of Kenya to the rest of the world.

“We expect more than 200 supercar fans as well as corporates to join this charitable course as we showcase the rich cultural diversity and economic potential of Kenya to the world,” he said.

According to County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Youth, Sports, Gender, Culture, and Social Services Shedrack Mutungi, the event is a perfect opportunity for Taita Taveta and the country in general to market tourism to both domestic and global visitors while at the same time use it as a gateway to attracting investments and partnerships in agriculture, mining, and other nature-centric opportunities.

“This event will be a big window to let visitors, domestic and international, know of our tourism potential and an eye opener to investors and partners in agriculture, mining, and other natural resources,” said Mutungi.
