MP 'blesses' Raila to hold talks with Ruto

A vocal Member of Parliament (MP) is urging Azimio leader Raila Odinga to take up the chance of holding talks with president William Ruto.

On Tuesday, Odinga said Tanzania president Samia Suluhu Hassan was here two weeks ago to midwife dialogue between the two leaders, but Ruto was nowhere to be seen.

In his response, the president who is away in Tanzania told Odinga to be ready to meet him any time, after he jets back in the country later today.

And Saboti MP Caleb Amisi wants Odinga to embrace the chance.

"Though I smell a rat but just do it, RailaOdinga, remember who you are dealing with. Be smart and maximise on wisdom. Make it simple and straight to the point," the vocal legislature said in a tweet.

"Timeliness with clear deliverables. Stop the nonsense of BBI again but touch on the cost of living, finance bill, IEBC and few constitutional amendments. Those killed and injured, families must be compensated."

He advised him to rope in two or three people to the talks, outside of the Azimio brigade.

"Avoid any form of handshake like a plague, carry 2 or 3 gentlemen, and avoid the current azimio brigade; they are conflicted, lazy with immature ambitions. Though you are a global icon and statesman is your second name, be rough and tough and, above all, remind him the streets are open and the constitution is alive."

He concluded by stating that Odinga has his blessings to hold talks with the Head of State.
