Raila Odinga deserves the AUC seat
By Robert Mutasi
Freedom is very expensive.Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga can testify this.
Raila Odinga is known for his unshakable spirit of fighting for democracy and seeking for justice in Kenya and Africa.
He has the hearts of many citizens of all class levels in his hands. He knows who is crying, yawning, frowning, lamenting.
He is empathetic! Pan Africanism is his culture. He has a dream of one day liberating the African continent from chains of neo-colonialism and modern enslavement.
In Kenya Raila has been fighting for his rights and rights of Kenyans wherever he feels their rights are violated.
He has been criticizing many regimes who tried to violate the constitution. On several occasions Raila has been advocating for the independence of arms of government and calls for transparency.
During campaigns and election periods, Raila does show incredible vision he has to liberate the country.
He wants Africans to stand on their own without Western influence, his spirit is still alive. With this spirit, Odinga has decided to enter in the race of the African Union Council Chairmanship.
His fame in Kenya and beyond arises due to his bold stand for protecting Africa against any exploitation by foreigners.
The former Premier’s decision to vie for the AUC seat is the best and wise decision. He has vast knowledge about African countries, needs and vision for transforming them better.
His manifesto he presented as AUC once elected is so pleasing and best for solving the problems that are facing Africa.
During the presentation of his manifestos at AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Raila pledged to eradicate poverty and illiteracy.
He promised to transform the economies of African countries, and also to transform the agricultural sector as one way of fighting food security.
In addition,Raila vowed to make sure the financial institutions gain independence. Again, he has a dream of promoting and advocating for gender equality and equity in African societies.
He pledged to deal with the pressing issue of climate change.Effects of climate change are adversely affecting Africa.
I have just mentioned a few but his dream of liberating Africa is very promising. He has been in politics for many years now.
He has vast knowledge in politics. In all candidates salivating for the AUC seat, I have not seen anyone with enough knowledge about pan Africanism that will do some reforms for it rather than Raila Odinga.
Odinga has already won the hearts of East Africa and part of Central Africa. Odinga is in stiff competition with Djibouti’s Foreign Minister Mahmoud Ali Youssouf and Madagascar's former Foreign Minister Richard James Randiamandrato.
The elections will take place in February 2025 during the African Union Summit.
