Spain, Argentina book Euro and Copa America final slots

Spain produced a memorable 2-1 comeback win over 2018 World Cup Champions France, to reach the final of Euro 2024 in Germany, on Tuesday night.

Going into the match as favourites after seeing off hosts in the quarters finals, the 2008 and 2012 Euro winners were stung by a Randal Kolo Muani's header from a Kylian Mbappe cross in the 9th minute.

12 minutes later, 16-year-old Barcelona wonder kid Lamina Yamal scored from a 25 yard strike, in what becomes a contender for goal of the tournament.

Dani Olmo scored the second goal in the 25th minute.

Yamal becomes the youngest player to ever score at a Euro tournament. He celebrates his 17th birthday on Saturday.

"We were in a difficult moment, you wouldn't expect a goal so soon, I wanted to put it in where it went in and I'm very happy," he said post match.

"I try not to think too much, enjoy it and help the team and if it works out like this, I'm happy and content with the victory. I want to win, win and win. I'll celebrate my birthday here in Germany with my team."

The Spaniards are now set for the Sunday final in Berlin, where they will face the winner of the second semi final clash, between England and Netherlands.

The two teams meet tonight to decide which side matches on into the final.

Meanwhile, Argentina captain Lionel Messi broke his Copa America goal drought, as his side beat Canada 2-0 to advance to the final.

Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez also found the back of the net at MetLife Stadium in the US on Tuesday night.

Alvarez gave Argentina the lead after 23 minutes, running onto Rodrigo de Paul's pass, before Messi made it 2-0 in the second half.

Colombia or Uruguay await the 2022 World Cup champions and Copa America holders in the final on Sunday.
