In the Budapest Athletics World Championships in Hungary, the Kenyan team, led by Abel Kipsang, delivered an impressive performance in the men's 1500 meters round heats.
African Champion, Abel Kipsang, outshone his competitors in the third heat, clocking a time of 3:34.08, just ahead of American Yared Nuguse who finished with a time of 3:34.16.
In the first heat, Kenya secured a respectable third place, trailing behind Norway and Great Britain.
Reynolds Kipkorir Cheruiyot, the silver medalist from the World Cross Country Championships, finished third in his race, recording a time of 3:34.24.
The Kenyan team faced challenges in the second heat, finishing in sixth place but still managing to advance.
World Champion Timothy Cheruiyot clocked a time of 3:47.09 in the second heat, finishing behind Finnish athlete Joonas Rinne and heat leader, Spain's Mario Garcia.
Despite the hurdles, all three Kenyan athletes - Kipsang, Cheruiyot, and Kipkorir - qualified for the semi-finals, keeping their hopes alive to elevate their country's prestige in the global athletics arena.
The top six finishers from each heat have moved forward to the semi-finals of the 19th edition of the championships in Hungary.
The semi-finals are slated to commence today, Sunday, with Kipsang, Cheruiyot, and Kipkorir among the fortunate qualifiers set to compete.
