A 38-year-old guardian accused of having carnal knowledge of a boy under his care, has been arraigned before a Kabarnet court charged with sodomy.

The particulars of the case stated that on 15th January 2024, at around 10pm in Muchukwo Village, Baringo North Sub-county within Baringo County, Nickson Katamei had carnal knowledge of the boy against the Order of Nature.

When he appeared before Principal Magistrate (PM), Caroline Ateya, charged with committing an unnatural offence, contrary to Section 162(a) of the Penal Code, he denied committing the offence.

“Your, honour, the accusation before this court is not true because I did not commit the offence,” claimed Katamei.

The Court was told that the suspect, who is said to be a school bursar and a guardian to the victim, took advantage of the situation after he tricked the innocent boy to escort him before committing the heinous act inside a thicket.

The Magistrate in her ruling released the man on personal Bond of Sh 80,000 with one surety or a Cash Bail of Sh 20,000 as the Court waits for treatment notes from a doctor.

The PM ordered the case to be mentioned on February 2 and hearing to take place February 22, where three witnesses are expected to testify against the accused.
