Students in Nyamira have been advised to accept transfers of principals and other staff from their schools as such changes are normal and inevitable.

Dr. Wilson Ongaga, the Board of Management (BOM) Chairman gave the counsel to students of Sironga Girls’ High School in Nyamira County, when he broke the news of the transfer of their Principal, Eva Odhiambo, to Kisumu Girls High school in Kisumu County.

He stated that serious administrators and staff who are focused to grow in their profession, cannot remain in the same work station or department in their entire professional life, because they will always change work stations or departments, change careers, take up various roles in their career path, before they finally retire as long as they live.

“The transfer of your Principal from this school has equally happened to various schools countrywide and you must, therefore, be positive, accept the changes with the right attitude, and be ready to be headed by a new Principal,” The BOM Chair advised.

He further asked the subordinate and the teaching staff of Sironga, to give the incoming Principal maximum support and cooperation, just the way they have done in the past, when there is change of administrators.

Ms. Eva Odhiambo who has been transferred to head Kisumu Girls’ High school has worked as Principal of Sironga Girls High school since 2020 and ushers in Mrs. Jane Nyanumba from Tombe Girls High School within Nyamira County.

Similarly, the school fraternity of Tombe Girls High school, will have to adjust and work closely with their new Principal Ms. Rachael Mokua, from Chwele Girls High School in Bungoma County.

Mr. Charles Nyandusi, BOM Chair for Tombe Girls’ High School during a brief address at the handover – takeover ceremony, attested to the fact that the changes were equally not expected in their school, but they had to accept the change and quickly settle down with the new Principal to avoid interrupting the learning process.

“We congratulate Mrs. Nyanumba who has been promoted to be Chief Principal and Head of Sironga, our National Girls’ School in this County and are proud that we have nurtured her during her nine years stay in Tombe Girls, to be fit for posts at higher echelons in her career path.” Mr. Nyandusi said.

The BOM Chair assured to work closely with the incoming Principal, Rachael Mokua and promised unwavering support from the entire Tombe Girls fraternity, so that it is equally elevated to the national level status soon.

“You should now embark on serious business of concentrating in your studies because you have targets of scoring high grades to equally pursue your dream careers in the near future.” Nyadusi advised.
