Atleast 51 civilians including a 6 year old boy have been killed in a deadly Russian Iskandar rocket attack that hit a cafe in Kharkiv Village of Horza during a memorial service today.
President Volodymyr Zelensky denounced the attack in the as a "demonstrably brutal Russian crime" and "a completely deliberate act of terrorism".
Presidential chief of staff Andrii Yermak and Kharkiv governor Oleh Syniehubov while confirming the incident added that six other people were wounded in the area which homes over 330 residents.
"From every family, from every household, there were people present at this commemoration. This is a terrible tragedy.”Klymenko said.
The Iskander is a mobile ballistic missile system designed for tactical strikes on small, high-value land targets.
Emergency crews were searching the rubble of damaged buildings as they tried to rescue Survivors.
Russian President Vladimir Putin claims atleast 90,000 Ukrainian troops have killed since their counteroffensive attacks in June with Putin claiming that Russia is set to create a new world.
Putin further warned that no opponent would survive should they dare use any form of nuclear weapon or attack against Russia.
In response to a question, the Russian president said potential enemies knew about Russia’s nuclear arsenal, and he was not ready to declare whether Russia needed to resume nuclear weapons testing, saying that “theoretically we could revoke ratification” of the international nuclear test ban treaty.
Ukrainian President Zelensky told more than 40 European leaders that he is confident of continued US support to Kyiv despite ‘political storm’ by the hard right Republicans who are close allies of former President Donald Trump who on Tuesday ousted House speaker Kevin McCarthy.
Republicans have escalated criticism over the continued support of the Ukrainian Government leading to the oust of McCarthy.
The US government is currently in shutdown after a failure to agree on financing for the next fiscal year.
