Two arrested with donkey meat in Kitui County

Two men have been arrested in Possession of slaughtered donkey meat at Kanyonyoo location Yatta on Sunday.
The suspects Paul Ngige and Ahmed Chege were arrested by Officers from the National Police Service at Lower Yatta Sub-County with 12 slaughtered donkeys at the homestead of one Wambua Nzioka.
The raid also saw one motor vehicle impounded which is suspended to transport the donkey meat to markets for sale.
The suspects are in Police custody awaiting processing and arraignment.
Donkey slaughtering remains illegal in the country whilst sale of donkey meat has been common in various parts of the country.
