Makueni County Director of Education (CDE) Mr. Charles Nyakundi has dismissed claims that the Form One student who died on Thursday last week at Kilungu Boys High School was killed.

Consequently, Nyakundi disclosed that the boy had complained of stomach ache and experienced dizziness and also vomited before he fainted and was rushed to Kilungu Subcounty Hospital for treatment.

"The boy identified as Emmanuel Kirimi experienced stomach ache and asked a colleague to escort him to the toilet. While returning, he fainted and was rushed to Kilungu Sub-County Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival by doctors," Nyakundi said while speaking to KNA on the phone on Sunday.

He termed the video circulating on social media alleging that the body had visible marks on the forehead as malicious saying only a postmortem could confirm the cause of the boy's death.

"Today, the parents of the boy had intended to do a postmortem at Chiromo mortuary. However, they called it off saying they have no money to pay for the postmortem," said the CDE.

Nyakundi revealed that Kilungu Sub-County Criminal Investigating Officer has taken up the matter to establish the cause of the boy's death.

He also refuted allegations that the school has been closed saying studies were on in the school.

"The students are in school. As we speak, they are attending a church service within the school compound," Nyakundi said.
