BREAKING: Tragic fire claims 17 pupils at Hillside Endarasha Academy in Nyeri

At least 17 pupils have been confirmed dead following a tragic fire outbreak that razed Hillside Endarasha Academy in Kieni, Nyeri County, on Thursday night.
National Police Service Spokesperson Resila Onyango has confirmed the incident on Friday, 6 September, 2024 in morning .
Fourteen more students have been rushed to hospital sustaining fatal burn injuries while efforts are currently underway to unravel more fatalities.
Sources from the group indicate that the students were burnt beyond recognition.
According to report, the fire broke out from one of the dormitories quickly spreading to other while it's initial source is yet to be confirmed.
Reports also indicate that 15 of the fatalities died on the spot while two succumbed to serious burns upon admission to hospital.
Reselia also report that DCI deputy director John onyango director of Homicide Martin Nyabuto and NPS Disaster Management Unit officers are already on the scene to conduct investigations and asses the situation.
There are fears that more bodies are likely to be recovered once the scene is fully processed.
