All Set for Great Rift 10 Aside Rugby Tournament in Nakuru

The most valuable player in the upcoming 30th edition of the Great Rift 10 Aside Rugby Tournament coming this weekend in Nakuru will bag Sh. 50,000 in prize.
The main match between Kenya Simbas and Zimbabwe’s Goshawks is scheduled for Saturday at 4 pm, with eight teams, including KCB, Main Machine, and Nakuru Rugby Team, having confirmed their participation.
In a press conference, held at Nakuru Athletic Club, Kenya Simbas Assistant Coach, Curtis Olago, expressed excitement and readiness noting that the tournament would provide excellent exposure for the players, following the team's recent game against Namibia.
“The match will aid in team's rebuilding process, allowing them to assess the future direction while integrating new and young players. This would also serve as valuable preparation for the upcoming Currie Cup in South Africa,” added Olago.
George Ambua, the captain of Kenya Simbas, called upon Kenyan fans to show their support by attending the event. He emphasized that the tournament would contribute to the team's rebuilding efforts after the previous season.
“We have no injuries going into this match and all the players are fit and looking forward to a big win,” Ambua confidently confirmed.
Also present, County Executive Committee Member for Sports, Ms. Josephine Achieng, extended a warm welcome to all the fans attending the tournament dubbed "TEMBEA NAKURU."
“We encourage everyone to come and support the Kenya Simbas team in their match against Zimbabwe. This event provides an excellent opportunity for the fans to also explore the local attractions in Nakuru,” she said, noting that around 5,000 people were anticipated at the event.
Ticket prices for VIP seating are set at Shs. 3,000, with regular going for Shs.1, 000 on Saturday, and Shs.500 on Sunday.
Residents of Nakuru Town are already warming up to the match, with businesses expecting to thrive.
“What a big weekend of Rugby. The comeback of the Great Rift 10 Aside spicing the action before Kenya Simbas takes on Zimbabwe, it will be hot,” noted Joseph Kipsang.
Janet Masongo took to the Nakuru County Facebook page to advertise her accommodation business noting that she would gladly guide those seeking Airbnbs.
