World Vision Kenya Country Director Gilbert Kamanga has added his voice on the issue of corruption that has hindered service delivery in public and private institutions across the country.
Kamanga who laid emphasis on devolved units of government said that it is imperative to institute clear monitoring plans with open communications systems in all operations so that they are able to identify a challenge and correct them promptly.
The Country Director who was speaking outside Baringo Governor’s office in Kabarnet Town on Wednesday, when his organization signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the county government, said such agreements are not to end at signing but should be implemented fully.
“As World Vision we are committed to working with our partners in ensuring that together we monitor its implementation,” he said.
Kamanga while highlighting some of their key programmes in Tiaty East, West and parts of Baringo North and South where they are focusing on provisions of water, child protection, environmental conservation, education amongst others said such life transforming projects need a high sense of transparency and accountability for their realization and sustainability.
Governor Benjamin Cheboi in his remarks said his government will prioritize formation of technical joint teams and develop a county monitoring and evaluation reporting framework in all their flagship projects.
Cheboi lauded the partnership from World Vision and other development partners noting that he will at all times endeavour to lead by example in complying with all the plans and strategic directions of all agreements in order to improve the quality of lives for residents.
“The County Government of Baringo will spare no efforts in ensuring that this MOU with Word Vision is honoured and fully implemented since its success will be a win-win situation for the residents who we are mandated to serve,” he said.
The Baringo boss who was accompanied by his deputy Eng Felix Kimaiyo and local leaders asked county staff to serve with dedication and diligence in their various roles for the region to realize sustainable development within the shortest time.
