CS Kuria leads government delegation for visit to Indonesia

Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Investments, Trade and Industry Moses Kiarie Kuria has embarked on a three day visit to Indonesia.
The visit’s aim, according to a statement from the Ministry is to strengthen bilateral relations and explore future trade and investment partnerships between Kenya and Indonesia, in various sectors.
Kuria, the former Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP) is leading a high-level government delegation.
He is expected to engage various players in Indonesia, with a focus on exploring future trade and investment opportunities in several sectors.
The sectors include edible oils, mining, renewable energy, blue economy, meat and livestock, electric mobility, textile and tea, coffee, nuts and flowers.
“The delegation will seek to forge partnerships in the edible oils sector, fostering collaboration in production, processing and distribution of edible oils,” the statement from the Ministry reads, in part.
“This visit aims to promote collaboration in renewable energy, including the exchange of expertise, technology, and investment opportunities in this rapidly growing sector.”
On the blue economy front; with their shared coastlines and abundant marine resources, Kenya and Indonesia will discuss ways to develop sustainable blue economy initiatives, including fisheries, aquaculture and maritime services.
Kenya and Indonesia intend to use the engagements to further diversify their economies, create employment opportunities and foster sustainable development.
