Leaders under the Azimio La Umoja coalition and their counterparts in Kenya Kwanza Alliance have taken to social media to give their take after the Supreme Court ruled the Constitution Amendment Bill 2020 alias Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) unconstitutional.
Suna East Member of Parliament and BBI Secretariat Co-Chair Junet Mohamed on Thursday, March 31, 2022, stated that the coalition will accept and respects the decision by the court.
The lawmaker further noted that the Supreme Court in its ruling agreed with a number of issues the BBI Secretariat had raised, and, as is expected, disagreed on others.

"The judgment affirms our belief in the rule of law and constitutionalism. It also demonstrates the maturity of our democracy and its core institutions," Junet stated.
Speaking in Parliament, Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo cautioned that the fall of BBI should not be celebrated, highlighting that the Supreme Court agreed with 5 fundamental points raised by proponents of the bill.
"It has set the stage for reggae to resume immediately after the elections," he said.
On the other hand, Kenya Kwanza leaders celebrated the verdict, stating that the rule of law had prevailed.
ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi congratulated the Supreme Court judges for the verdict, terming them as bold.
"Kenya is indeed fortunate to have a strong and independent Judiciary to which the people can always turn to when those in power become outrageously impertinent," he stated,

"NULL & VOID. I repeat NULL& VOID!" Elgeyo Marakwet, Senator Kipchumba Murkomen stated.
"Finito. End of the road for the fraud that was BBI. On 9th Aug 2022 we shall put the final nail into the coffin of " Project Capture Kenya". Long live our democracy. After that, our beloved Kenya will finally chill with the big boys," Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot stated.
Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata recounted that he had written a letter to President Uhuru Kenyatta cautioning that the BBI report would fail but his advice was taken lightly.
"BBI had some hidden, nuanced and nefarious intention- create incentives( by creating posts ) to encircle WSR. Purported benefits like Ward fund and more cash to counties were political baits. These benefits can easily be passed in Parliament without amending the constitution," he argued.
"UNCONSTITUTIONAL…. Null and Void. With all the resources, energy, bravado and impunity exhibited by the BIbiyai brothers? Truly earth is HARD," Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa stated.
