Jobless FC, Chakol Queens crowned global appeal tournament champions

Jobless FC and Chakol Queens are the 2023 Global Appeal Football tournament champions.
The two teams were crowned the inaugural editions' champions after emerging victors in the finals played at the Busia County Stadium, on Wednesday.
Global Appeal Sports partnered with Busia Women Representative Catherine Omanyo, who hosted and funded all teams.
Jobless FC beat Obucuun Border FC 2-0 in the men's final, while Chakol Queens registered the same scoreline against Lukolis Ladies in the women final.
Some top coaches in the Country among them Tusker FC's Robert Matano and Nicholas Muyoti of City Stars watched a section of games during the tournament.
Matano said that lack of stadiums is the greatest undoing in Busia county, as far as talent discovery and development is concerned.
"We have talents and best coaches in the county but we lack standard pitches for hosting major matches, we need a paradgim shift from the local leadership to reverse the trend."
Matano who is known as The Lion in football circles pledged to recruit at least three players to play for Tusker FC.
Champions walked away with Sh30, 000 each in prize money, while each of the 36 teams that participated in the four day tournament recieved Sh15, 000 from Omanyo.
