Kajiado Governor Joseph ole Lenku and his deputy Martin Moshisho have witnessed the swearing-in of the tenth County Executive Committee Member and seven new Chief Officers at the Kajiado County Headquarters.
Speaking during the event, the governor said that the Chief Officer’ office is a very central office in his administration as it is the office of the accounting officer for the various departments and therefore the resources and their use comes through them.
He said that the Chief Officers’ office will be crucial in the realization of his vision of modulated pastoralism, climate-proofed physical environment, equitable access to quality education, and livable towns.
“Though you will find a long list of so many projects that need to be done, we want you to focus on a few deliverable projects. Success is achieved by having a few high-impact projects completed. Look at priority areas in your respective departments and deliver to the residents,” Said Ole Lenku
He added that he expects the chief officers to embrace teamwork by according support to the County Executive Committee members and giving guidance to the directors and administrators in their respective departments.
The governor said that Kajiado must become a working county and it is the responsibility of the chief officers to ensure that all county employees under them report to work and are accountable so that they can realize the commitment they made to the wananchi.
The governor also noted that the staff audit process is almost complete and once the report is out, he will ensure the right placements of all county employees as the biggest resource a leader can have is the human resource.
