Kericho Youth turned up in large numbers for the Kenya Defence Forces recruitment exercise Monday, conducted at the Kericho Green Stadium with the hope of securing an opportunity to join the Kenya Defence Forces.

The rigorous exercise that was free for all aimed at recruiting qualified General Detail Recruits, Constables, and Female soldiers into the Defence Forces.

Speaking to Kenya News Agency, the Senior Recruiting Officer Lieutenant Colonel Gichugi Ongesa affirmed that candidates must be physically fit, qualified academically, and should meet minimum requirements in terms of age, weight, and height adding that they must be able to showcase competence.

“So far, we have not had any incidences and no cases of malpractices reported as we conduct the exercise. We are choosing the best; we are not disclosing the figures, but we are choosing the best. Those who will make it will be allowed to serve at the Kenya Defence Forces,” said Lieutenant Col. Ongesa

The recruitment exercise will be conducted Tuesday at the Sosiot center in Belgut Sub-County, Kericho County.

The Kenya Defense Forces recruitment kicked off on 28th August 2023 in various counties and members of the public have been warned against engaging in malpractices to influence the process and have been advised to report suspicious cases to the nearest police station.
