Three people claiming to be children of the late Uasin Gishu businessman and politician Mzee Jackson Kibor have moved to court seeking temporary orders stopping the ongoing burial plans.
The three have filed a case before an Eldoret court under a certificate of urgency, accusing Kibor's family of sidelining them in the burial plans.
They want to be recognized as legitimate children of the late Kibor and also fully involved in the burial.
Filed before Eldoret Principal Magistrate Naomi Wanjiru, the case by the three family members, Albert E Kibor, Elizabeth J Koskei and Joseph K Misoi also wants the court to issue an order for DNA samples to be taken from Mzee Kibor's body for a paternity test.

members or any other from removing and disposing of the body of Jackson Kiprotich Kibor pending hearing and determination of the
case," read part of the application dated March 28, 2022.

On her part, Elizabeth Chemutai Koskei told the court that Mzee Kibor had a relationship with her mother Sarah Kibet which resulted in her birth.
The third applicant, in his affidavit, says the deceased had a marital relationship with his Mother Philemon Misoi which resulted in his birth.
The court certified the case urgent and set the hearing date to be on April 1, 2022.
Applicants were to serve defendants by close of business on March 30th.
