Residents of Rongai Sub-County Tuesday commended the Nakuru County government for the continued improvement of the feeder roads in their area.
The County Executive for Roads Engineer Michael Kamau while launching the opening of Francis Atwoli Climb road said the road was completed at a cost of Sh. 3.9 million, which involved grading and graveling over a distance of 9.4 km.
He said the road improvement has greatly enhanced connectivity and provided easier access to markets for the farmers, boosted economic activities for local businesses and it was likely to increase the land value in the area.
The Member for County Assembly (MCA) for Menengai West, Isaac Rottok, said the improvement of the road had created casual job opportunities for the youth and those who didn’t spend their earnings on alcohol were likely to continue progressing.
He added that the Road was Named Atwoli Climb because the renowned trade unionist has stayed in the area for a long time and he’s one of their respectable elders.
