A select committee on the Nkararo-Enooretet boundary dispute in Trans Mara will table its findings in two weeks’ time, Narok County Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu has said.

Ntutu who visited the region together with members of the Committee and the Narok county security team led by County Commissioner Isaac Masinde was optimistic that the expected report, with full recommendations, would help unlock a lasting solution to the dispute which has for many decades caused conflicts between the neighboring Siria and Uasin Ngishu communities.

In the past weeks, the region had witnessed increased cases of insecurity where hundreds of people had been displaced with several acres of cane and houses being torched.

The on-goings attracted the attention of the Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki who visited the region and commissioned a General Service Unit Camp to ensure increased security surveillance. The move seems to have yielded fruits as cases of insecurity have since dropped.

CC Masinde said the government would readily adopt the full recommendations of the committee so long as it would help yield lasting peace and urged all to support the committee to achieve set objectives.
