Over 1000 Scholars Benefit from Mentorship Programme

At least 1238 high school students from the South Nyanza region have undergone a two-day mentorship programme to improve their leadership skills and offer career development assistance.
The programme brought together students who are beneficiaries of the Wings to Fly scholarship and the Elimu Scholarship which the World Bank supports through the Ministry of Education.
Speaking to the press at Kisii High School, Equity Group Director Corporate, Jackton Konyango said the programme is conducted yearly for scholars in forms three and four and focuses on the purpose of aligning values and leadership.
“The success of over 82 percent transition of scholars from high school to university has driven Equity Foundation and its partners to do more for the needy children in our society,” said Mr. Konyango.
The Director noted they also partner with the county government educational teams to ensure that they offer direct mentorship to the children.
He underscored the need for students to receive regular and constant mentorship saying that it assists to keep them focused on their goals and careers.
