Parents Appeal for Help to find their son

The parents of a form four student, who went missing from Obera Boys High School in Homa Bay County on April 2 are now seeking for help to find their son.

 The parents of Samuel Nyariki Marita said they requested the school administration not to send home their son for fees arrears, but the boy is said to have gone out with those sent home without the teacher's consent.

Jared Marita's second son disappeared even though the father had called and promised to pay the child's tuition balance, once he had returned from Nairobi.

According to Jared, the boarding master informed him that the boy was absent from school and inquired as to whether he had returned home after the student was identified as missing by his colleagues.

Obera Boys High School's chief principal, Okoth Olando, acknowledged that Samuel Nyariki Marita was missing from the school and that they were searching for him.

According to a student who walked with Nyariki to Rodi Kopany town said that he used a borrowed phone at a local shop to call an unknown number.

However, the phone's contact history had been deleted earlier before the inquiry from the administration.

The school administration has filed a report at the Rodi police station and a manhunt for the missing student has been launched.

Olando noted there was no apparent negligence that might have caused the student to leave school without permission.

"The students who were sent home were supposed to pass through the gate and be given an official 'leave out' sheet.

In the case of this boy, he was called by the deputy and given instructions as per the request of the parent," Olando explained.
