Richie Spice to be accorded VIP reception - Governor Nyong'o

Jamaican reggae musician Richie Spice is expected to bring the 'roof down' in Kisumu County this weekend.

The musician arrived in the Country on 21st May, 2023 and is set to perform at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi on 27th May, 2023 before performing in Kisumu a day later.

Addressing members of the press on Wednesday, Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o said the artist will be accorded a VIP reception upon his arrival in Kisumu, on the morning of 28th May, 2023.

"For the love of reggae fans in Kisumu and its environs, Richie Spice will be accorded a VIP reception and treatment by the County Government of Kisumu and further, my Government will be present at the Kisumu International Airport to warmly receive him at exactly 9.25 am," said Nyong'o.

"The artist will then pay me and my cabinet a courtesy call and further, hold a joint media brief after which he will he head to one of our popular star rated hotels in the city that has partnered with the organizers towards the success of the concert."

The Jamaican artist together with his crew will be accorded a city tour, a Lake tour and a nature tour, in a bid to showcase the best of Kisumu County to the world.

"He will get an opportunity to have a taste of our special fresh fish known as ngege (tilapia) from our important resource, Lake Victoria," added the governor.

Richie Spice will later on perform at the Mamboleo ASK show show. Doors open at 11.00am.

Ziva Empire is partnering with the county government of Kisumu in planning for the concert.

Richie Spice is in the country for the third time. He will perform for the first time in Kisumu.

Regular tickets are going for Sh500, while VIP ones are trading at Sh2, 000.
