Two Murang’a men face charges of Violently stealing a mobile phone

Two middle aged men were yesterday each released on a Sh. 200, 000 bond with similar sureties after they denied charges of violently robbing a pedestrian of a mobile phone.

The two, Irungu Mwangi and Jackson Mwaura were charged that on May 5 within Murang’a town, they violently robbed Samuel Mwangi a mobile phone worth Sh6, 000, which in its Mpesa account had Sh. 8, 000.

Appearing before Senior Principal Magistrate Mr. Edwin Nyaga, the two also stood accused of knocking down and injuring the complainant during the incident which took place at around 10pm.

They pleaded not guilty and asked to be released on reasonable bond terms as their case was scheduled to be heard on June 19.
