A suspect arraigned in court for stealing pipes

A man suspected of stealing irrigation pipes worth Shs 542,532 was arraigned before a Makueni court to face related charges.
The accused, Labanson Kiruma is alleged to have stolen 61 pipe rolls of 20mm, 17 rolls of 32mm, 11 rolls of 90mm, 10 Pegler gate valves of 1.5 inches, 20 Pegler gate valves of 1inch and 30 gate valves of 0.5 inches from Kyee Mwee Irrigation scheme.
Kiruma appeared before the Chief Magistrate Peter Gesora where he was charged for stealing an offence, he committed on 20/09/2022. However the suspect who has been on the run, was arrested on 29/03/2023.
The court heard that the stolen pipes belonged to Manyota limited that was contracted to put the pipes at the scheme.
The case will be heard 4th July 2023.
