AFC Leopards dominante western Derby with victory over Kakamega Homeboyz

AFC Leopards gained bragging rights after a 2-0 victory against western Kenya rivals Kakamega Homeboyz in an FKF Kenyan Premier league match played at Nyayo National stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Tomas Trucha's side went into the game on depressive form chasing for a victory to elevate them from the relegation zone.
Homeboyz started the match as the better side but failed to capitalize on a number of chances with Moses Shumah and Mudavadi missing on clear chances.
A quiet Leopards would then roar with a goal in the 35th minute through Clifton Miheso after Cliff Nyakeya was brought down inside the box following a good sequence of interchanged passes,
The match almost went into a scuffle as Ingwe fans threatened to storm the pitch citing poor refereeing decisions.
Ingwe doubled their tally in the 38th minute through Hassan Beja who got on the end of a Maxwell Otieno low-drilled cross across goal right after he had been felled by Brian Buleti but got back up.
Kakamega Homeboyz pulled one back from a set-piece but the goal was later disallowed as Opiyo had been fouled.
Homeboyz were denied chances inside Ingwe's box who remained reselient to ensure all the three points remained to their favor.
The victory being only the second for Ingwe in the season puts them on the 13th spot with 14 points as Homeboyz drop to 3rd wit 27 points after 15 matches.
