Alex Mwakideu makes a U-turn, says still Milele FM presenter

Radio presenter Alex Mwakideu's 'tour of duty' at Milele FM is still on.

In a statement early Monday, Mwakideu declared that he was leaving the station after five years as morning show presenter.

"Its been 5 years in Milele FM. I have enjoyed! Let me say thanks a lot to you, the listener, because without you, there is no radio! You are the reason we do this thing called Radio," wrote the veteran broadcaster on Facebook and X (Twitter).

"Let me also say thanks alot to all my colleagues, the ones I am leaving behind, and the ones who left Milele FM already. Thank you all. Page closed. Onto the next one!"

But few hours later, he shared another message indicating that he was still at the Mediamax owned radio station.

"Bado niko Milele FM. Kumbe munanipenda hivi (I am still at Milele. I now know that you love me this much). Thank you for all the phone calls and text messages, we had a small misunderstanding which has been sorted. So, we are now good to go!" Mwakideu said in a post on instagram.

He joined Milele FM from Standard Group's Radio Maisha in 2018.

During the five years at Milele, he has been paired with various comedians, among them Jalang'o who is the current Lang'ata MP, MCA Tricky and Wilbroda.
