Kisii Governor, Simba Arati on Monday found himself in a state of confusion after police officers from the General Service Unit (GSU) surrounded his office at Gusii Stadium in Kisii town.
The officers had cordoned off the stadium where the Governor and other county officials have been operating since he assumed office more than a year ago.
Addressing the press at his offices, Arati said the conduct of the police officers was an act of intimidation orchestrated by those against his style of leadership.
The Governor noted the act by the police officers came after he recently launched a sacco for boda boda operators to improve their livelihoods.
He decried the closure of boda boda offices in Kisii Municipality on Friday by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
However, Kisii County Police Boss, Charles Kases said the GSU officers were on duty and had taken a rest at the stadium.
Kases noted the closed office had been declared a crime scene following reports of harassment by the members of the public and was under investigation.
