In-form Aston Villa recorded their 15th successive home win in an impressive 1-0 win over Arsenal in an English Premier league match played at Villa Park on Saturday evening. 

Villa went into the game with bragging rights after coming from a breathtaking 1-0 victory over defending champions Manchester city over the weekday while their visitors Arsenal had just previously recorded a 3-2 comeback over Luton town thanks to a Declan Rice last minute header. 

It was John McGinn who spoiled warmed the party for Villla in just 7 minutes with a clinical finish past David Raya. 

Arsenal tried to press harder to come back into the match but Villa proved more reselient against the gunners strikes with Manager Mikel Arteta forced to make tactica Changes bringing in Trossard for Martinelli in the 70th minute and Nelson for Zinchenko in the 95th minute. 

The substitutes were not enough to save the gunners from Villa's Slaughterhouse with a late attempt by Kai Havertz in the 90th minute went past the goal keeper but ruled out for an handball by a VAR check. 

Finally it was yet another heroic night for Unai Emery this time against his former employer earning a victory that keeps Villa third on the Premier league standings with 35 points, 1 shy off league leaders Liverpool and 1 shy from second placed Arsenal who have 36 points. 

Defending champions Manchester city lay 4rth with 30 Points after 16 matches with their fixture against Luton town scheduled for tomorrow.
