Preparations to host the annual Central Kenya, Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) show have started in earnest at the Kabiru-ini showgrounds in Nyeri.

The show is slated to take place between September 13-16 under the theme; Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.

According to the schedule, the showground will open its gates to the public on Wednesday, September 13 where all five governors of the five Central Kenya counties have confirmed attendance as guests. The agricultural fair will be officially opened on September 15 with the expected guest of honour expected to be announced at a later date. Outstanding exhibitors from the various categories will be awarded on the last day of the show.

Nyeri Branch manager Amos Kirui said that this year’s show is expected to bring together 170 exhibitors from agriculture, manufacturing, housing, Small and Medium Enterprises, banking, hospitality, and education sectors. Further, Kirui noted that the annual fair will also give the attendees a chance to interact with new technologies and innovations which will be on display during the four-day show.

“The society urges the public to attend the event, interact with key industry players and embrace knowledge and skills set to advance the sector. They should come expecting an educative, enriching, and entertaining show,” said Kirui in a press release.

“The Central Kenya Show will continue to provide an important focal point for sharing critical knowledge by ensuring exhibitors showcase new and emerging innovations as well as advanced technologies within Nyeri County and its environs in line with the National government’s agenda on agriculture and trade,” added Kirui.
