Boda Boda operators in Khwisero Sub-County to join Sacco

Khwisero Member of Parliament (MP) Christopher Aseka has promised to form a Sacco to offer financial help to all Boda Boda operators in the area.

Speaking yesterday, the MP said the move is part of his economic empowerment programs for the youth who can approach the institution for loans at lower interests.

 “Once you become a member and save some money for a given period, you can qualify for a soft loan and you can uplift your financial status by investing,” He noted. 

The MP hosted operators from Mulwanda, Ebukwala, Khumailo, Khumutibo, Mundeku, Namasoli, and Khusukuti markets at his Mulwanda home in Khwisero Sub County in a bid to realize the dream.

“Our engagement with boda boda operators is centered on empowering and improving their livelihoods by joining the Saccos,” he said.

He encouraged the operators to be top ambassadors of moral values, especially during these critical long school holidays by monitoring and identifying social ills and notifying the relevant authorities.

He said the Boda boda operators have played a major role in the community especially in the transport sector, logistics and local cash flow.

 At the same time, the MP encouraged the operators to focus on educating their children as the path to combat poverty and reduce unemployment levels.

“I have outlined my driving objective towards poverty eradication. You must educate your children for the betterment of our future generations,” He said.
