Bomet-based football club Silibwet Leon's FC has unveiled a new head coach ahead of the National Super League competition this season.
Addressing the Media in Bomet town after unveiling the new Coach, Silibwet Chief Executive Officer Eric Ronoh said they have signed a five-year deal with former Mwatate coach Mark Asa and assured the fans that they will improve their performance in the near future.
“We are excited to inform our fan base, supporters, and sponsors that we have signed a contract with Mark Asa who is an experienced coach who has seen the tremendous growth of a good number of clubs in the Kenyan Premier League,” explained Mr Ronoh.
“Our spirits are high and full of optimism that with the arrival of Mr Asa as the head coach, the club’s performance will improve soon, “he stated.
The Football club had faced a lot of challenges ranging from lack of sponsors, facilitation from the County Government and the area members of parliament, and the worst unexpected circumstances unfolded when they released former head coach Joseph Ongoro who left the club after it was alleged he was not paid for the whole of last season.
In the last season, the club performed dismally but the CEO promised to deliver this season after the arrival of the new coach.
He appealed to all the likely sports sponsors to support the only second surviving team in the south rift after Narok Mara Sugar FC.
