The county government of Bungoma has been awarded for its outstanding performance in implementation of service charters, good governance, response to complaints from the public and easy access to information.
This is to say that the county government under the leadership of govenor Kenneth Lusaka, performed exemplary in service delivery to the citizens.
Lusaka is leading the county for a second term, after occupying the position from 2013 to 2017.
The devolved unit was feted during the fourth edition of Huduma Awards ceremony, organised by the Commission on Administrative of Justice (office of the Ombudsman) on Thursday.
It was held at Nairobi's Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), presided over by Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management Moses Kuria.
The CS represented President William Ruto.
He thanked the office of the Ombudsman for organising the ceremony, aimed at rewarding outstanding public officers and institutions.
"I congratulate all the winners who were awarded today. I'm extremely proud of our very own Huduma Kenya domiciled under my ministry for emerging as the winner under the institutional category in the public service sector. I note that this is the second time Huduma Kenya is scooping this award," he said.
Bungoma county was awarded under the public service delivery and access to information categories.
"I am elated for the outstanding award as the best performing County in implementation of service charters, good governance, response to complaints from the public and easy access to information," noted governor Lusaka.
