Candidates receive geometrical sets ahead of KPSEA exams

The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) candidates at Kanyamedha Comprehensive School in Kisumu West constituency, are raring to go after receiving geometrical sets from a well-wisher.
According to the time table released by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) this week, KPSEA exams will start with a rehearsal on October 25, followed by the main examination, from 28-30 October.
Over 260 candidates will sit for the exams at Kanyamedha Compressive School.
On Friday, Job Hosea Foundation donated geometrical sets to all the candidates, as they enter the exam preparation home-stretch.
Dr Blak Aende, Director, Job Hosea Foundation said the set donation exercise falls under the Elimu Bora initiative, with a view of assisting learners from financially underprivileged families, especially during this examination period.
“We understand that not all learners and parents are financially capable,” he said. Aende stated that the exercise started last week, and they have so far made stops in several schools across the constituency, with over 2,000 geometrical sets having been donated so far.
He said the aim is to reach out to all KPSEA candidates in Kisumu West by the time the exams start.
“We will donate over 3,700 geometrical sets by the end of this exercise,” he added.
He called on other well-wishers to join the bandwagon, and support education initiatives not only in the constituency, but across the country.
Candidates led by Faith Abby and Bravin Samuel expressed their readiness for the exams, which serves as a stepping stone to joining Junior Secondary School (Graded 7), next year.
“I want to thank the Job Hosea Foundation for the donation of geometrical sets ahead of the exams. We are very ready for the examination,” said a confident Abby.
Dominic Otieno Koloo, Kanyamedha Comprehensive School Senior Headteacher said immediately the learners are through with their exams, they will be handed JSS admission letters, for seamless transition next year.
