Machakos residents have been asked to increase the forest cover in the area by planting more trees, especially during the anticipated short rains period.

Madam Kirigo said the theme of International Tourism Day is Tourism and green investments adding that it is important to invest in planting trees and leaving a better world for future generations.
“When we plant trees any time, it can benefit the environment because it cleans the air by eliminating air pollution, conserves the environment, and helps attract rain for irrigation,” said Kirigo.
