Couple Assaulted by Unknown People in Homa Bay

Residents of Lala village in Arujo Location within Homa Bay town were left in shock after at least seven hooded thugs ambushed a couple at their home before gang raping the wife.

Preliminary investigations into the incident indicated that the masked gang reportedly sneaked into the house in the dead of the night and attacked the husband Samuel Ayoo with a blunt object leaving him for dead.

The incident that took place at 3 am in the night saw Ayoo's wife sexually assaulted by the seven who left after the act.

Arujo Location Senior Chief, Bob Lang’o confirmed that Ayoo was hit two times before they turned on the wife.

“The first thing they did was to hit the man with a blunt object before they turned on his wife and molested her badly,” he confirmed.

The suspects undertook their evil act silently without raising any alarm to the unsuspecting neighbors.

“There was no commotion whatsoever and nobody knew what was happening,” he said.

Lang’o noted that the suspects made away with two phones and cash amounting to Sh. 3800 after committing the heinous act and suspected that their intention was not to rob the family.

It was only after the culprits had left that the family called for help from the neighbors who alerted the chief.

The administrator further said that the incident has been reported to the police who have launched an investigation to bring the culprits to book.

The victim’s brother Abiud Ayoo confirmed that the suspects hit the victim on the back of his head with an iron rod rendering him unconscious.

“They hit him again when he regained consciousness thinking they had killed him,” he said.

He called on the police to conduct their investigations and ensure his brother and the wife get justice.

The couple were admitted to Homa Bay Teaching and Referral Hospital for medical attention.
