Manchester United forward Christiano Ronaldo and his wife Georgina Rodriguez announced that they are in mourning following the passing of their young baby boy.
The couple shared the sad news via a statement posted on their social media on the 18th of April 2022.
“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away," their joint statement read.
"It is the greatest pain that any parent can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you."

The tragic news comes barely six months after the two announced they were expecting and this would have made Ronaldo a father of six as Georgina was expecting twins.
The couple shared a picture of both of them holding sonograms captioned, “Delighted to announce we are expecting twins, Our hearts are full of love-we can't wait to meet you #blessed."
The first child or Ronaldo Christiano Jr was born in 2010, to a woman who wished to remain anonymous. In 2017, he welcomed his first set of twins Mateo and Eva who reports speculated were born from a surrogate mother. A month later Christiano confirmed that his partner Rodriguez was pregnant with their first child, Alana who was born in 2017.
Following the news the Manchester United fraternity also shared in his pain and condoled Christiano via their social media they wrote “Your pain is our pain. Sending love and strength to you and the family at this time."
