Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has said officers who have messed up with their work should be fired.

Kindiki stated that the rogue officers should not be retained in their office whichever the case.

Speaking to the press,CS Kindiki has argued that those officers are being transferred to another headquarters from their previous stations.

He said the transferring of rogue officers is not the best solution to end their mistakes.

He added that such decisions of transferring is what is contributing to increased vice and criminal cases among the officers.

"Transferring an officer who messed up their work is transfering a problem from one place to another,"CS Kindiki said.

The CS has warned the officers who are involved in corruption while executing their duties to be integrity and competent.

He has explained that most of the officers are taking bribes and practising favoritism thus making the security services poor.

Kindiki has assured the public that they are no longer going to transfer any rogue officers, instead they are going to end their careers and take legal action against them.

Kindiki has claimed that the officers have been discriminating against youths such as bodaboda during their daily activities by taking bribes and arresting others without enough evidence.

Further,Kindiki added that the officers have been forcing poor Kenyans to give out bribes in exchange for services.

Kindiki has urged them to adhere to their duties by providing security to the public without charging them.

He has asked the chiefs, assistant chiefs and other officers to be transparent while offering jobs to those who have been qualified.

However,Kindiki, has promised to give good accomodations to those officers who have been doing their work well.

He has further congratulated those who sacrificed themselves for the sake of public security.

“I want to say this to all government officers that are doing job of serving citizens and they have sacrificed,I want to congratulate…the government will ensure they have been promoted and get good accomodations,"he promised.

Police officers have found gone outside their line of duties like an officer from Aterait police station in Teso South, Busia County accused of raping a 21-year-old woman on May 31.

The victim claimed that two officers went to their homestead at around 11.00 pm in search of illicit brew (chang'aa).
