Double Glory for Kenya as Kipyegon, Chepchirchir book 1500M women's Finals Ticket

Kenya's Marathon queen Faith Kipyegon easily booked her slot into the 1500m women's Finals at the World Athletics Championships Budapest alongside Yet another Kenyan sensation Nelly Chipchirchir.
Kipyegon won her semi-final strong at 3:55.14, a bit faster than the time she required to get through the Heats on Saturday.
The 29-year old world record holder now remains on course for a third world title, and eager to maintain the long smiles on Kenyan's faces.
Ethiopian Diribe Welteji finished second in 3:55.18, while Sifan Hassan, still nursing wounds from her fall in the 10,000m final on Saturday, finished third in 3:55.48, her fastest time over that distance this season, to also make the final.
Kipyegon maintained her energy although starting from the back of the pack to take pole position, despite Hassan attempted to attack her at the bell, she resisted, putting on a good surge of pace.
Teenage sensation Nelly Chepchirchir who also bossed her semi-final will battle Kipyegon innthe Finals after winning comfortably in a time of 4:02.14, ahead of Ethiopian teenager Birke Haylom who clocked 4:02.46.
Edinah Jebitok finished a dissapiinting 10th, clocking 4:05.41.
