FKF elections will be transparent and credible - CS Murkomen

Sports Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has assured Kenyans and sports fanatics at large that the upcoming Football Kenya Federation (FKF) elections will be a Fair, credible and transparent process.
Speaking during a meeting with the National Assembly committee on Sports and Culture on Tuesday, The CS noted that his ministry alongside the Registrar of sports have implemented measure to ensure that the December 7th Polls will be a Sucess and without controversy.
One of the measures he say includes, a verified list of registered clubs submitted to the FKF Electoral Board and strict compliance with the Sports Act, which requires all candidates to clear regulatory checks from relevant government bodies.
Murkomen mentioned that a Sports Tribunal is set in an event of any unforseen disputes.
"The election process mandates that FKF appoint an independent electoral panel and conduct the elections openly.
Observers from sports organizations and the Ministry will ensure the process is credible, and any disputes will be addressed by the Sports Disputes Tribunal, providing a fair avenue for appeals."He said.
The CS noted that the outgoing FKF President Nick Mwendwa is not eligible to run as Dorris Petra's deputy in the upcoming elections.
"I had vowed to ensure every sports federation would adhere to established legal requirements on term limits and elections." Murkomen noted.
"As Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, I remain dedicated to ensuring that our sports federations operate transparently and responsibly." Murkomen said.
The CS reiterated on his promise to reform the governance of Kenya's sports to pave the way for the full enjoyment of socioeconomic benefits that it brings.
The highly contested FKF elections will see heavyweights battle to run the country's football backbone including Former FKF CEO Barry Otieno Barry, Tom Alila,Hussein Mohamed, Shimanyula and Doris Petra.
The FKF national elections on December 7 will be preceded by the County polls that will be held on November 9.
