FKF Women Premier League set for kickoff

The 2024/2025 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women Premier League (WPL) is set to kick off this weekend.
Six matches have been lined up for the opening weekend; five on Saturday and one on Sunday.
Kenya Police Bullets, the defending champions, will open their campaign against newbies KISPED at the Police Sacco Stadium, in Nairobi.
Fans in Kisumu will be treated to two matches at the Moi Stadium on Saturday and Sunday. Former champions Vihiga Queens FC will take on Ulinzi Starlets at the Stadium on Saturday, before the newly promoted side, Kisumu All Starlets host Zetech Sparks at the same venue on Sunday.

Kisumu All Starlets FC vs Zetech Sparks (Moi Stadium, Kisumu 1pm)
This week, Kisumu AllStarlets head coach Juma Said he is confident his team can retain their top-flight status by capitalising on their strengths, particularly in home matches.
He stressed the importance of winning all home games, noting that their preparation and team dynamics provide a solid foundation for success. "We have a strong squad, and winning all our home matches will be key to staying in the league," Said noted.
"We are well-prepared and ready to begin the season with a win against Zetech Sparks. The players are focused, and the morale in the camp is high," added the tactician.
He said returning to the top tier brings both excitement and pressure, adding that he remains optimistic that their preparation and determination will guide them through the season.
