Gor Mahia extended their undefeated run their in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) with a 1-0 victory over Bandari FC in a match played at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos on Friday afternoon.

Gor came into the match looking for an eighth victory after previously defeating FC Talanta, Muhoroni Youth, and Kariobangi Sharks, while they had drawn against Nzoia Sugar.

Bandari, on the other hand came in search of an eighth victory of the season after previously defeating Murang’a seal 2-0 last weekend in Mombasa.

K’Ogalo launched their first threatening attacks on the 35th minute after Benson Omala striked for the top corner from outside the area but Ochuka made a fine save to keep the score line blank.

K’Ogalo enjoyed possession in the first half but both teams went into the tunnel with nothing to celebrate yet.

Bandari came close to an opener in the fresh minutes of the second half after the Derick Nsibambi header was brilliantly tipped over the crossbar by goalkeeper Kevin Omondi denying him the 7th goal of the season.

Gor Mahia's coach Jonathan McKinstry was forced to make tactical changes shortly after the hour mark bringing in Ernest Wendo, Patrick Kaddu and Rogers Mugisha for Lawrence Juma, Benson Omalla and Patrick Sibomana while the visitors introduced South Sudan international Jackson Dwang for Robert Onyango.

Bandari intensified pressure with Juma's missing from close range as both teams tried to snatch a late minute winner.

With ten minutes to go, Gor Mahia found themselves on a redemptive chance which was perfectly executed by Austin Odhiambo awarding K’Ogalo with their opener.

Bandari attempts for an equalizer were dealt with a major blow as Brian Odera was booked for a second yellow marching off the game.

The Victory maintains K’Ogalo at the top of the table with 34 points, five more from second placed Posta Rangers as Bandari settle on the 6th with 26 points after 16 matches.
