Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League giants Gor Mahia will unveil a new bus on Saturday, 11th November, 2023.
The 42-seater bus will be unveiled at the Moi Sports Centre Kasarani, Nairobi, shortly before taking on Murang'a Seal in a premier league game.
The match has been branded 'Sportspesa derby' arising from the fact that the two teams are being sponsored by bookmakers, Sportspesa.
Speaking at a press conference in Nairobi on Tuesday morning, Ambrose Rachier, Gor Mahia chairman said the bus was initially a 62 seater, before 20 seats were removed for purposes of comfort.
The bus, registration number KDN 068N was donated by Cabinet Secretary (CS) for ICT and digital economy, through his Eliud Owalo foundation.
Rachier announced that starting with the Murang'a Seal game, K'Ogallo match tickets will be sold online, for the purposes of accountability.
"Gor Mahia to sell match tickets online starting with the Sportpesa Derby against Murang'a Seal on Saturday. Gor Mahia tickets will not be sold at the gate. No cash transactions. All sales to be done via M-Pesa," said the long serving chair.
Having been promoted from second tier National Super League (NSL) last season, Murang'a Seal have turned into a sort of giant killers, slaying perennial FKF premier league campaigners at will.
Former champions Tusker FC become the latest team to go down at the hands of the newbies. The Brewers lost 2-1 over the weekend.
Posta Rangers lead league standings with 21 matches, after 10 rounds of matches.
Gor Mahia and Murang'a Seal are second and third respectively, with 20 points apiece.
K'Ogallo enjoys a superior goal difference over Seal, having scored 12 and conceded 4; while their Saturday opponents have scored 10 and conceded 5.
The Murang'a based side has lost 2 matches, while Gor Mahia is the only unbeaten side in the league so far this season.
