Kakamega Homeboyz were held to a barren draw by Bandari in a FKF Kenya Premier league match played at Bukhungu stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Bandari knocked first through their pacey winger Hassan Abdallah ten minutes into the game but his effort was not good enough to materialize.

Francis Omondi responded for Homeboyz created with a brilliant long shot down the left but the volley flew top of the crossbar.

As if it was an exchange of knocks, Bandari striked again as Hassan Abdalla chased a chip from Fidel connecting it with a powerful volley that was tipped over the bar by Homeboyz goalkeeper James Ssetuba.

Moses Mudavadi first touch that took him clear on goal but his shot was straight at the keeper.

Bandari were forced into tactical changes sending out injured Chacha Swaleh who was replaced by Atariza Meja.

A free-kick was delivered from the left to the back post with Brian Wekesa heading the ball back across the goal. It came to William Wadri, who flicked on for Umaru Kasumba, whose close-range effort was well saved by the legs of Ssetuba, while Michael Opundo's classy effort towards the top right corner was also saved.

Homeboyz coach Patrick Odhiambo made a change at the beginning of the second-half with Moses Shummah coming in for Davis Kasirye.

Homeboyz were later awarded a penalty in the 74th minute after Ambrose Sifuna was brought down in the penalty box but Bandari goalkeeper Joseph Ochuka made a save denying the hosts a winner.

The Final whistle was more embarrassing for Homeboyz with a depressing penalty miss as Bandari were more disappointed by failing to take advantage on most of their chances.

The draw kept Abana Abeingo in sixth place on the log, while Bandari ascended to the second place in the league standings.
